- A rare tribal rug from SW Persia with a field composed of 3 medallions commonly associated with the Basseri tribe (Khamseh Confederation). The handle is quite heavy, and the weave is not obviously Khamseh. James Opie, who has examined the piece, believes it may have been woven by an Afshar weaver living somewhere beyond the environs of S.W. Persia. Colors are all natural and saturated. SOLD
